Kinasi Lodge is a boutique hotel on Mafi a
Island, approximately 100 kilometres south of
Dar es Salaam. A short ride across the island
from the airport and the main town of Kilindoni,
the lodge overlooks Chole Bay. This intimate and
lovely resort, situated in an old cashew and
coconut plantation, provides a luxury stay
amidst stylish décor and magnifi cent natural
surroundings of the protected arine park. The
swimming pool is surrounded by verdant gardens
with sunbeds and alfresco lunchtime seating on
the pool terrace. To add refi nement, there is a
wine cellar with a signature wine list and an
outdoor pergola cocktail bar, a spa with expert
Thai personnel providing aromatherapy, Thai
massage and hydrotherapy and a host of leisure
time options for those after-work periods.

design and furnishing to our food & beverage and
staff service - is done with a passion for
perfection.
In keeping with the intimate nature of this
resort, only fi fteen rooms are available. Each
room is in a private bungalow with thatched
roof, large verandah and ensuite bathroom.
Personal attention amidst a relaxed atmosphere
is the hallmark of Kinasi. The rooms have
ceiling fans and mosquito nets and maintain an
island paradise atmosphere.
Meals are served at the Pool Bar and Grill or in
the Main Restaurant à la carte and table d’hôte,
with local spices, pizzas and barbecues being
specialties. Friendly staff, unique cuisine
based on local seafood dishes and a welcoming
feeling greet the visitor. We are well known for
our excellent food and large choice of wines.
Mafia Island Marine Park is a tropical paradise,
renowned for its snorkelling, scuba diving and
deep-sea fi shing. Kinasi has a PADI diving and
snorkeling centre, excursion vehicles, mountain
bikes, sea kayaks and a variety of other outdoor
activities, all excellent for leisure time or
team building activities for conference
participants. Mafi a also offers excellent
cultural tours to local villages and excursions
to islets, beaches, coastal forests and
historical sites.
